Overview

As a Wintel Administrator, you will be responsible for the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of our Windows-based server infrastructure. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of our systems.

Job Description

  1. Manage and maintain the Windows server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and administration of Windows Server operating systems.
  2. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability of servers and applications.
  3. Implement and maintain server security policies, including user access controls, firewall configurations, and antivirus software.
  4. Perform regular system backups and recovery operations to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
  5. Plan and implement system upgrades, patches, and service packs to keep the infrastructure up to date.
  6. Collaborate with other IT teams to design and implement server infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements.
  7. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, resolving escalated issues in a timely manner.
  8. Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure efficient maintenance and troubleshooting.
  9. Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends related to Windows server administration.
  10. Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution to ensure business continuity.

Skills & Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 2. Proven experience as a Wintel Administrator or similar role, managing Windows-based server environments. 3. In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS. 4. Proficiency in server virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V. 5. Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DHCP, and LAN/WAN. 6. Experience with server hardware, storage systems, and backup solutions. 7. Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation and task automation. 8. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. 9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 10. Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, MCSA, VMware Certified Professional) are a plus.
