Job Description

The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of the value of data warehouse and ETL and proven experience in delivering solutions to different lines of business and technical leadership.

• Working with the client team, perform development and provide L3 support to database integrations and data warehouse using SQL Server, SSIS, Azure, 3rd party tools, etc.
• Good research, analysis and problem-solving skills
• Ability to estimate work items in a systemic manner
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (including agile development methodology)
• Hands on development and maintenance of the SQL based systems and various associated components for data ingestion, transformation and processing.
• Hands on development and maintenance of integrations with various (including bespoke) Financial (Applications and Management Information Systems), Underwriting and Claims Management Systems and other systems based on business requirements.
• Ensure data quality and accuracy by implementing business and technical reconciliations via scripts, profiling and data analysis; analyse and create data mappings.
• Develop and support objects and code for data profiling, extraction, load and updates.
• Provide and maintain documentation for all developed objects and processes, in strict timelines.
• Integration testing of deliverables.
• Develop and run test scripts to ensure the quality of code and integrity.
• Use source code control repository (using VSTS, GIT) – preferred GIT
• Following data / integration design patterns and architecture as prescribed by the Architects. Come up with suggestions and recommendations where required

Skill Set & Experience:

• Deliver large/medium DWH programmes, demonstrate expert core consulting skills and advanced level of SQL, PL/SQL, SSIS, SSAS knowledge and industry expertise to support delivery to clients
• Demonstrate management and an ability to lead projects or teams individually
• Experience in team management, communication, and presentation.
• Minimum of 3 years of ETL development on SQL Integration Projects using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server database objects
• Experience in implementing Type 2 Dimension Data models and data warehouse ETL techniques for historical data
• Experience in development of complex / enterprise data warehouse implemented over standard RDBMS (using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server database objects)
• Ability to understand/re-write nested complex SQL script
• Experience of analysis and resolution of data quality and integration issues
• Experience of Database queries (SQL) and performance tuning
• Experience in providing and maintaining technical documentation, specifically Data Mapping and Low Level / ETL Design Documentation
• Experience of working both independently and collaboratively with various teams and global stakeholders (Business Analysts/Architects/Support/Business) in an agile approach while working on projects or data quality issues
• Experience of upgrading/converting SQL based system to new versions (SQL Code and Objects) – preferable
• Microsoft Azure - PaaS fundamental knowledge - preferable
• Experience in Attunity tools (e.g., Compose, replicate) – preferable
• Insurance Domain Experience – nice to have
• Experience working on SSAS Cubes (development & design), along with troubleshooting performance and processing issues – nice to have
• Experience in BIML based development – nice to have
• Experience in source control using GIT
• Possess and demonstrate deep knowledge of data warehouse concepts, techniques, various design alternatives, and overall data warehouse strategies.
• Knowledge of Type 2 Dimension Data model and data warehouse ETL techniques for historical data
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a geographically dispersed team environment.
• Demonstrable ability to work on multiple activities simultaneously, and work to deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding of development methodologies, frameworks and best practices.
• Ability to work outside of regular working hours where necessary to ensure global migrations are successfully tested.

Additional Requirements

• Strong knowledge of ELT/ETL concepts, design and coding
• Expertise in data handling to resolve any data issues as per client needs
• Experience in designing and developing Oracle object such as
• Tables, Views, Indexes, Materialized Views and Analytical functions
• Experience of creating complex SQL queries for retrieving, manipulating, checking and migrating complex datasets in oracle
• Experience in SQL tuning and optimization using explain plan and SQL trace files
• Candidate ideally should have good knowledge of ETL technologies/tools such as SSAS, SSRS, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Power Apps.
• Good verbal and written communication in English, Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience of interacting with customers in understanding business requirement documents and translating them into ETL specifications and High- and Low-level design documents.
• Candidates having additional knowledge of BI tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, etc will be preferred.
• Experience with Cloud data bases and multiple ETL tools.
